Lorena Isabel Barona López received the B.S. degree in Electronic and Information Network Engineering from Escuela Politécnica Nacional, Ecuador (2010) and MSc. degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain (2013). She received her Ph.D in Computer Engineering by Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain (2017). She was visiting researcher at Aveiro University and Altice Labs in Aveiro, Portugal, and she is currently a professor of Informatics and Computer Science Department (EPN). Her professional experience includes research projects EU H2020, and she is author and coauthor of several articles. Her research interests include Internet of Things (IoT), mobile networks, Software Defined Networking, Network Function Virtualization, and Cybersecurity.
